Markets
Moon's Market: 35th & Highland - It's just down the block for late night, emergency, items, beers/wine, anything you've forgot.
WholeFoods - 760 South Sepulveda at Rosecrans in the Plaza El Segundo complex. This is brand new and easily the best supermarket in the area.
Trader Joe's - Variety of gourmet ready to eat foods and organic foods. They have good selection of fresh flowers too. There are two locations in Manhattan Beach. The one on Manhattan Beach Blvd is smaller, getting a spot in the small parking lot can sometimes be challenging. The one on Rosecrans Ave is bigger. It's also close to other stores like Barnes and Nobles, ect
Ralph's - This is a bigger choice market with much more selection. The produce are very fresh and well organized. The deli/prepared foods has a very good selection. The market is located in a shopping area close to several banks, restaurants, and the Manhattan Beach Village Mall.
Vons - Located in downtown Manhattan Beach about 1 mile from this property. Convenient if you're already in downtown. The produce section is lacking. The selection is adequate but not as extensive as Ralph's.
Restaurants
Pancho's - Just around the corner is a nice Mexican restaurant/bar. Good variety of dishes and a stocked bar.
Beach Hut Pizza - Also around the corner is a hole in a wall pizzaria. A much better alternative to the big guys.
The Local Yolk - Also down the street is a popular local breakfast place. The Omelets are very good. There could be a wait especially on weekends.
Uncle Bill's Pancake House - Probably the best breakfast place in MB. There is always a wait on weekends but it's worth it.
Katsu - Down the street south east corner of Rosecrans and Highland across from Pancho's. Very lively and fun sushi bar.
What to do?
Bikram Yoga - Yoga studio down the street and next to Katsu offering classes of all levels.
EyeSpy Los Angeles - Events in Los Angeles and Sourounding Area
LA Weekly - The L.A. version of New York's "Village Voice". Pick up a free copy at newstands. Lots of advertisements but also a lot of good info.
